Aloha Dragons,
Welcome to Quarter 2! We look forward to seeing you all soon. Remember Monday 11/16 is a Waiver Day, no school for students. Students will return to school on Tuesday 10/17 with a modified schedule for our Homecoming Kick off. Schedules will be shared via social media.
At the beginning of the year, I shared that the values of Pili (connect/close), Pa'a (firm/tight), and Pono (righteousness/balance). These values are continuing to hold true as we grow as an academy school and explore how all classes support the learning of priority standards and universal skills. These values are also driving our focus of increasing parent, family, and community involvement. Throughout this quarter there will be multiple opportunities for this to happen through School Community Council Meetings, Family and Community Events, Student Led Conferences, Student Meetings, more.
The first family event is happening on Tuesday 10/17/23 during Homecoming week. It will start at 5pm with the Senior Families receiving graduation information packets from Jostens, and continues at 6pm for our Nighttime Powderpuff event and Honoring our Senior Athletes at 7pm. Opening week will also bring our first SCC meeting on Thursday 10/19 at 5pm. A link to the meeting will be shared via email and social media. At this meeting we will be discussing Q1 data, budget, upcoming events, and safety.
Here are some things coming up:
