Membership in the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a high school student and is more than just academic recognition. The NHS establishes guidelines for selection that are based upon a candidate’s outstanding performance in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

The National Honor Society strives to recognize the total student: one who excels in all areas. The standards and obligations used for selection are:
1.     3.5 Cumulative GPA to apply
2.     At least 75% positive feedback from teacher recommendations.
3.     GPA is checked about every nine weeks.
4.     Student must display good character at all times and remain in good standing with the faculty and administration.
5.     Student must attend monthly meetings.
6.     All students are required to engage in a service project according to their own talents and interest and all members are required to participate.
